Machine-Made Buddhist Yuthok Statue for Meditation
We are Kathmandu Valley artists who have been creating Vajrayana sculptures that have been passed down from generation to generation, like this Yuthok Yonten Gonpo the Younger statue. In the statue, the revered Buddhist doctor is depicted sitting on a moon disc lotus seat with her right hand performing the 'Vitraka mudra,' a gesture representing the discussion and transmission of the teachings by the Buddha and a 'Varada mudra,' a gesture of charity with her left. Two Utpala flowers bloom beside each of her shoulders. A sword and book scroll is placed upon the left utpala flower, representing his role as a protector and his ability to overcome obstacles to healing and spiritual progress. At the same time, a medicine jar sits on the right Utpala flower, representing his role as a physician.
Machine-carved out of copper, the statue is gilded in gold and highlighted with acrylic colors painted purely by our master artisan's hand. Add this Yuthok Statue to your shrine, or gift it to a devotee yourself for daily Buddhist rituals and activities.
